FLENS SURF CUP 2011 – Klaas Voget

From July 27th-31st the German Windsurfing Final took place at the Brandenburger Strand in Westerland, Sylt. At the most important national windsurfing event all drivers competed in the three disciplines Slalom, Waveriding and Racing to get a final ranking in the overall standings. As expected, our teamrider Klaas Voget – who came to Sylt as the former German Champion – made his way through to the final. There he had a close fight against the new german talent Philipp Köster from Gran Canaria. At least, Philipp Köster won by a very close 3:2 jury decision. For Klaas, who performed well during the whole event, a 4th place in the discipline Slalom and a 3rd place in the overall ranking of all disciplines, were only a small consolation.
The organising committee took a very positive resume of the FLENS SURF CUP 2011. In total, 120.000 spectators visited the venue and so the organisers are already looking forward to the upcoming event next year which will be held July 25th- 27th 2012.
